Women Power Wednesday; Emma Watson

“I have realized that fighting for women’s rights has too often been synonymous with man-hating. If there is one thing I know for certain, it is that this has to stop.”

-Emma Watson

Hi guys! Today I was thinking about what I wanted to post when I remembered I haven’t posted a women power Wednesday in a while and it happens to be Wednesday! I chose Emma Watson for this week because of what she does for women’s equality and she is a big role model in my life.

Everyone knows Emma for her role in Harry Potter, but what many don’t know is that she is an avid worker for women’s rights. She works for girl’s education all over the world so that every girl gets an education, no matter where she lives. Emma is also a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador, where she helped to launch He for She. He for She is a program to promote gender equality all around the world. ┬áThe thing I love most about Emma is how she is a strong feminist and doesn’t put men down while raising women up. The stereotype of being a feminist is that women hate men but that could not be more untrue.┬áThis stereotype needs to be broken because it is just splitting men and women apart even more. Women and men need to come together so that we can all work for gender equality. Emma has done a lot of work to break that stereotype and it is really paying off. If you want to get involved with He for She there is a link below.
